“Having utilized the LCM Recovery Tank on several wells in the Eaglebine/Buda formations of East Texas, I am overall very pleased with the performance and cost savings. Specific observations are as follows:
Total losses with both OBM & WBM were significantly decreased.
Reduced costs of both drilling fluids and LCM.
Acceptable levels of LGS (6%), even with LCM levels up to 25 ppb.
Easily adapted for use on different types of drilling rig mud pit configurations.
Viable alternative to by-passing shakers when severe losses occur.
Ease of use by rig personnel.
In my opinion, the LCM Recovery Tank is cost effective, reducing total drilling fluid cost and losses to the formation. In addition, total LCM cost and additions are reduced, resulting in additional drilling fluid cost savings.”
